Liz Olker doesn’t just dress the part. The Metuchen, N.J., native is actually a big country fan. As one of the bartenders at Revolver at Santa Fe Station, Olker revels in the atmosphere of the bar where you can two-step, line dance and even see a country music star. “We’ve had singers like Jason Aldean in here with DJ Silver,” said Olker. “The place was packed. He even got on the mic and sang a song. The vibe was great.”

And that “vibe” is definitely starting to reverberate. “Some people might not know about it because it’s not on the Strip, but it’s definitely spread through word-of-mouth and throughout the country scene that Revolver is the place to check out,” Olker said.

The bar is familiar to locals, and the locals love welcoming tourists. “They love trying to teach the tourists how to line dance,” Olker said.

One of Olker’s favorite parts of the job is performing, including getting on top of the bar and line dancing along with the crowd. “I even go out on the dance floor and two-step with guests,” she said.

Revolver has been lighting up the country scene at night for five years, and Olker has been a part of it all since day one. “I heard that a country nightclub was opening,” she said. “And I’m a country music fan, so ... Revolver is just a fun and friendly atmosphere. We’re always welcoming new faces and we try and bring them back as continued clientele.”

New to Revolver’s cocktail menu, the Burning Red Head uses the recently released Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire. The popular whiskey is infused with cinnamon liqueur, and Revolver mixes it with ginger ale. “It’s not too sweet or syrupy, it’s more smooth, and it kind of has a slight Big Red gum taste,” Olker said. Stop by Revolver on Wednesday nights—Ladies Night—where women get $1 cocktails, including Burning Red Head, and drafts until midnight, along with free entry. And everyone can enjoy free line dance lessons beginning at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and Friday through Sunday.
