Give us an “L.” Give us an “E.” Give us an “X.” Give us an “I.” What does that spell? Lexi! As a cheerleader in her junior and senior high school years, Las Vegas native Lexi Simons developed an outgoing personality, which suits her well as a cocktail server at The Pool at The Linq hotel.

“Dancing and cheering almost my whole life has definitely helped with shyness and talking to people,” Simons said. “And working here last year as a food runner definitely helped me grow and learn to talk to guests.”

This season, Simons turned 21 and jumped at the chance to be a cocktail server. “I love it,” she said. “It’s so much fun. It’s a very active, upbeat job. The cool thing about working here is that people are either on vacation or wanting to party so everyone is in a good mood.” And Simons is there to help her guests celebrate by providing excellent customer service and making sure her guests are having the best time possible, she said.

“The Linq pool (is) just such a fun, backyard-vibe party pool,” Simons said. The intimate pool club offers guests many amenities to enjoy—games, beer pong, air-conditioned clubhouse with pool tables and TVs, cabanas, live DJ sets, musical guests and more.

When the season ends, Simons heads back to UNLV to finish up her early childhood education degree, with the goal of becoming a first-grade teacher. But for the rest of the summer she’s having F-U-N.

Cucumber Cooler

The Pool at The Linq—strictly a 21-and-over pool club—offers an array of cocktails and drink specials. A popular pick, available in a souvenir cup, is the Cucumber Cooler. The handcrafted cocktail mixes together Bacardi Limon rum, simple syrup, fresh lime juice and muddled cucumbers and mint leaves, and is then topped off with ginger beer. Guests can also enjoy tropical signature cocktails and a nice selection of craft beers. And on Sundays, enjoy buy-one-get-one bottles of champagne.
