Savyna Roufeh is a work-hard marketing manager in a party-hard town. If you’ve been to the Palms’ Ghostbar Dayclub, you’ve probably seen her around without even realizing it—but she wasn’t hiding, she was just doing her job. When Roufeh isn’t brainstorming the logistics of GBDC from idea to execution, she’s in the thick of the party, making sure all the pieces are in play, from staff to special guests. Sometimes she’s even rounding up the party’s iconic cheeseburgers or assisting with bottle presentations in costume.

“I’m the center hub,” says Roufeh, a Las Vegas native who grew up around the glitz and glamour of the nightlife scene, although she says she had a fairly normal upbringing despite the neon-lit backdrop. It wasn’t until she went away for college that she realized just how different Las Vegas is from most cities. Now she’s the one weaving some glitz and glamour of her own.

Sometimes, she’ll stand behind the DJ, take a look around and realize exactly how it’s all come together. “You see someone standing on a couch taking a Flabongo and the DJ cuts out the music. And everyone’s chanting their name,” says Roufeh. “These people are going to have a great impression of the venue, of this city. Just to know that they take that lasting impression home, that’s what I work for.”

So if you do bump into her at GBDC, you can thank her for the 15 seconds of fame—or at least for the cheeseburger.

Flabongo

GBDC has always had some kind of imaginative beer bong, but this season’s Flabongo might take the award for Most Ridiculous Party Implement. “It was a (frat party) moment in a marketing meeting where we collectively decided we wanted to do a different type of beer bong this year,” says Roufeh, who then sought out the oddest thing she could find on the Internet. Thus, GBDC’s Flabongo was born from humble beginnings into party greatness.
