The show takes place in Vegas, but it’s almost impossible to feel you are anywhere but Brooklyn when Mac DeMarco plays. Yes, the indie rocker is Canadian, but the dude’s sound has the most hipster of boroughs all over it. In fact, Salad Days, which was recorded in DeMarco’s Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood, feels like a soundtrack to a day in Park Slope.

Besides writing all the music and singing all the songs, the dude also plays all the instruments on his four different studio albums. However, the do-it-yourself star brings a full band with him on the road.

His opening act, Ducktails, has already won the hearts of kids who grew up in the 1980s. Any band that honors Scrooge McDuck has all sorts of pop culture credibility before playing even one note. But the band has just as much musical cred, as it is now a decade old and five albums into its oeuvre. What started as a side project for Real Estate guitarist Matt Mondanile continues to soldier on in all its psychedelic glory.
