When you think of rock supergroups, you might imagine bombastic arena rockers releasing carefully crafted pop songs, but that couldn’t be further from the aims of new hard rock supergroup Dead Cross.

Vocalist Mike Patton is still best known as the singer for Faith No More, but he’s participated in a huge range of musical projects over the years. Drummer Dave Lombardo is an original member of thrash-metal legends Slayer and recently started playing with Suicidal Tendencies and The Misfits. And guitarist Mike Crain and bassist Justin Pearson are both members of hardcore punk band Retox.

Dead Cross’ often short, intense songs feature elements of hardcore punk, augmented by Patton’s dynamic vocals. The band also incorporates metal and goth (via a cover of Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”), making for a bracing and aggressive sound.
