At this point, most bands from the ’80s that are still touring are lucky to have one or two key original members still around (even bands from the ’00s are starting to have the same issue). But new wave trailblazers The Fixx have had almost entirely the same lineup since releasing their debut album in 1982. Singer Cy Curnin, guitarist Jamie West-Oram, keyboardist Rupert Greenall and drummer Adam Woods have all been with the band since before that album’s release, and bassist Dan K. Brown first joined in 1983. That kind of longevity is rare for any rock band, and it means that The Fixx is more than a touring nostalgia act. Of course, there’s plenty of nostalgia for Fixx hits like “Stand or Fall” and “One Thing Leads to Another” all of which hit the charts during the band’s heyday. Although Brown left the band in 1994, he returned in 2008, and the classic lineup has been intact ever since, most recently recording 2012 album Beautiful Friction. Fans who only remember The Fixx from the ’80s, though, will still be getting the same band from their fond memories.
