Although the Grateful Dead officially broke up after singer-guitarist Jerry Garcia died in 1995, the surviving members continued the band’s legacy in a variety of forms, reuniting in different configurations with collaborators old and new. Bassist Phil Lesh spent 30 years in the Grateful Dead and since then he’s worked with his former bandmates in side projects The Other Ones and The Dead.

Lesh’s own group, Phil Lesh and Friends, features a rotating lineup of musicians including some of his fellow Grateful Dead alums, with dozens of different players sitting in with Lesh over the years. The lineup in Vegas will showcase vocalist Chris Robinson and keyboardist Adam MacDougall of the Black Crowes, along with their Chris Robinson Brotherhood bandmates Neal Casal and Tony Leone. The CRB members represent the next generation of the jam-band sound pioneered by Lesh and the Grateful Dead, just a few of the many, many musicians Lesh has influenced over his long career. The legacy of the Grateful Dead remains in good hands.
