Rick Astley, to quote you, “I just want to tell you how I’m feeling.”

You’re awesome. Most celebrities would probably be pissed off if their biggest hit got a second life as a joke of sorts in Internet meme form. But not you, you delightful Brit pop rocker. No, you, Rick Astley, have supported rickrolling. Rickrolling is when you click on a link, a video begins playing and then, all of a sudden, there’s Astley, singing his epic 1987 chart-topper, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” But the song is so damn catchy that you rarely mind you’ve been tricked.

The beauty of rickrolling is that it has taken on a real life form, such as when Foo Fighters drove past a group of Westboro Baptist Church members and rickrolled the air full of love. “Never Gonna Give You Up” has over 260,000,000 views on YouTube, for which you, Rick Astley, are said to have made a total of $12.

The thing is, Rick Astley, you just go along with all of it. Enjoy this deserved career upswing. Enjoy your current tour in support of your album 50—which also happens to be your age!—Rick Astley, we’re never gonna give you up!
