In any profession, it is tough for a child to follow in the footsteps of a parent. Now imagine how difficult it is if that parent is one of the most renowned persons to ever participate in said field.

That is the mountain Ziggy Marley had to climb in the world of reggae as the offspring of the legendary Bob Marley. Yet, like many of his siblings, most notably brother Damien, Ziggy reached his own reggae summit.

Ziggy first became famous alongside his brothers and sisters as Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers. Their album Conscious Party won the Grammy Award in 1989 for Best Reggae Album and both “Tumblin’ Down” and “Tomorrow People” were big singles.

The singer-songwriter has continued to have eclectic success, both with the Melody Makers and as a solo artist, including creating the theme song for kids’ television show Arthur, and even as a voice actor in the film Shark Tale. The Marley family even has a cookbook. With that varied type of talent, Ziggy Marley’s show will most definitely be jammin’!
