Whitney Houston’s The Bodyguard is one of her most iconic movies—breaking records that year as the second-highest-grossing film worldwide. Twenty-five years later, it’s still a classic. And as the film celebrates its 25th anniversary, what better way to celebrate than with Alexander Dinelaris’ musical adaptation?

In the U.S. national tour of The Bodyguard, Grammy-nominated R&B singer Deborah Cox brings her talents to the stage as singer Rachel Marron, who hires former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer (portrayed by Judson Mills in the musical) to be her bodyguard. Marron and Farmer’s love story in the romantic thriller comes alive onstage.

Houston’s singles “Saving All My Love for You,” “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” the film’s most memorable songs including “Queen of the Night,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “I’m Every Woman” and the timeless cover, “I Will Always Love You,” intertwine to re-create the film’s appeal.
