When twin sisters Tegan and Sara released The Con, the album proved to be the duo’s first cohesive, fully realized project. Central themes like love, separation, aging and acceptance weave through haunting, yet often sprightly and catchy melodies. Ten years later the album remains fresh and ever relevant.

And the group has not ignored its impact. Since The Con, Tegan and Sara have released three highly acclaimed albums, and they’ve collaborated with multiple artists including Tiësto and Morgan Page. To commemorate their seminal album (and perhaps cope with the reality that they’re ten years older), the duo will release The Con X: Covers, which features artists like Ryan Adams and CHVRCHES offering new interpretations of the songs. In support, Tegan and Sara have embarked on an anniversary tour where they’ll perform The Con in full and use a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which fights for the LGBTQ community.
