Twenty years have passed since Hanson’s “MMMBop” flooded airwaves with its infectious hook. If that doesn’t make you feel old, remember that those blond, baby-faced boys Isaac, Taylor and Zac are now a trio of thirtysomethings who can grow stylish, calculated stubble (even a few of their children are as old as they were in 1997).

Two decades is a long time though, and like most, you probably left Hanson and the ‘90s in the dust along with your cargo pants and bedazzled hip-huggers, but the group never forgot about you. In fact, it’s hard to find a band that rivals their dedication. For example, when Island Def Jam pulled the band’s funding during their This Time Around World Tour, they finished the tour out of pocket. And when the brothers once again battled their record label (this time over creative freedom) they went independent. (That’s right. Hanson was indie before you were.)

These days, Hanson is celebrating its 25-year anniversary with Middle of Everywhere, a greatest hits album (and tour) that captures their cheerful and carefree youth to their growth, exploration and maturity, with new single “I Was Born” reminding us why we loved them in the first place: They made music fun.
