Few pop-rock frontmen have made the total transformation that Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie has. Breaking out of Las Vegas in the mid-2000s after gaining the attention of Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, Panic! At The Disco evolved from overnight sensation to the Brendon Urie show as the other three original members had all departed by 2013. Urie became increasingly comfortable in the spotlight as Panic!’s popularity increased with each successive album, scoring No. 1 albums with 2016’s Death of a Bachelor and latest song set Pray for the Wicked, which debuted at the top of Billboard’s album chart after its June 22 release.

Both the new music and Panic!’s latest live gigs have benefitted from his expanded horizons. Videos for Pray’s “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” demonstrate Urie’s charismatic blend of suave screen and stage presence with a new level of sophisticated satire and self-deprecation. He doesn’t seem to be taking himself too seriously, but positive live reviews of tour stops in Minneapolis, New York and Chicago describe some serious commitment to stage presentation and performance.
