There’s still no name in music more closely tied to Las Vegas lore than Elvis Presley, but the latest incarnation of his legacy on the Strip is like nothing that has come before.

Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel in Concert does not involve an impersonator. It’s more of a multimedia storytelling experience charting the rise of Elvis through never-before-seen archival photos and videos (the show is co-produced by Authentic Brands Group in cooperation with the King’s estate) and a rollicking, passionate rock ’n’ roll band reminiscent of Presley’s original Blue Moon Boys backing group.

Staged by Broadway veteran Jeff Calhoun, Heartbreak Hotel features Eddie Clendening, who starred as Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet on Broadway; Matt Codina, who also originated his role in the stage musical version of this show; and Colte Julian, known best for his national touring role as Jerry Lee Lewis in MDQ.

Harrah’s, 3 & 8 p.m. Sun., 8 p.m. Mon. & Wed.-Sat., 6 p.m. show only April 28, starting at $49 plus tax and fee. 702.777.2782
