He Knows Funny

How’s this for Vegas synergy? Jay Leno is joining America’s Got Talent as a guest judge this month and when he returns to The Mirage to perform this week, he’ll be taking the stage at his Vegas comedy home, the Terry Fator Theatre.

Fator, of course, was one of the TV competition’s earliest winners, igniting his career. It’s sort of a full-circle development, and Leno is excited to assume his judging duties.

“It’s a great show. It’s just so diverse,” he recently told Extra TV. “I don’t know how you can pit a comic against an opera singer against a magician against a dog. It seems incredibly tricky to do that.” Catch cracks like those at The Mirage on July 26.

Must-See: Blue Man Group

Blue Man Group

The 820-seat theater on Luxor’s atrium level is the ideal venue for the Blue Man Group’s renowned, colorful spectacular, an intimate environment that intensifies the unique and adventurous qualities of this long-running popular show. BMG originally opened in Las Vegas in a much larger theater but has returned to its immersive, avant-garde roots and it remains a singular entertainment experience on the Strip. The driving, tribal soundtrack, always performed live, is the engine that keeps the show running, and you really feel the vibrations of the percussion within this space. Quieter moments offer a unique connection between the audience and performers as the silent stars react to your laughter and applause. There’s nothing quite like Blue Man Group.

Around the Strip

Beloved Jimmy Kimmel sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez continued the bossman’s Vegas takeover when he joined Gwen Stefani’s Just A Girl production at Planet Hollywood Resort’s Zappos Theater, dressed as a big banana for the opening number. Rodriguez similarly stole the show during the recent grand opening party for Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at the Linq Promenade.

Tenille Dashwood joined WWE friend Peyton Royce for a night of sexy fun at Magic Mike Live Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel, where Mirage headlining comedian Iliza Shlesinger was also spotted enjoying the show and taking pictures with the cast. Instagram and Real Housewives personality Larsa Pippen, wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, celebrated her birthday at Beauty & Essex inside The Cosmopolitan on the same night singer Ally Brooke had her own birthday party at the hip restaurant after performing at Flamingo Go Pool earlier that day. Brooke hit Marquee Nightclub to keep the party going, where R&B singer Kehlani was also in the house after dining at Tao at The Venetian.

1980s action movie favorite Dolph Lundgren caught Absinthe at Caesars Palace while in town to co-host the World MMA Awards. At long last, Ivan Drago and the Gazillionaire got together for a photo.
