PBR Rock Bar & Grill inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort is a city hot spot this week with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo happening through Dec. 13. And, in the thick of all the action at the bar and restaurant is general manager, Matt Aldrich.

“PBR is a country-bar plus. We definitely have all the fixings of a country bar with just a lot more attitude and a lot more fun,” said the Iowa native. “It’s big. It’s loud. It’s crazy. If they want to see how Vegas does country, then they’re in the right spot.” This is Aldrich’s second year of working during NFR, one the PBR’s busiest times, and he loves the nonstop action.

“We have a great staff and setup here,” he said. “There’s always something going on—something fun, something new, sometimes challenging—but we always get through it.”

When Aldrich moved to the city six years ago he was looking for a challenge; working towards the goal of running a place in Vegas. With a background in bartending, it didn’t take long for Aldrich to switch gears and move into a managerial position. And, PBR is a dream company to work for, he said. “Being my age running a Stripside property and being with a company and seeing their plans for growth, there’s really nowhere to go but up,” he said.

“PBR—it’s the whole atmosphere. Bull riding, beer pong, karaoke, the food, hanging on the patio, people from all walks of life,” Aldrich said. “It’s a memorable experience.”
