For Mallory Pracale, one of Drai’s Beachclub cocktail servers, it was an accident that set her on a different path in life. Pracale graduated high school at just 14 years old, and spent the next four years traveling back and forth from Las Vegas to the U.S. Olympic Complex in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she trained as a speed skater. That dream came to a halt with a career-ending accident that broke her hip.

Pracale didn’t give up learning, though; she pursued a degree in elementary education, graduating from UNLV. Recently, however, the glitz of the Strip called. Pracale’s path forked again and she began a new career in cocktail serving and returns this year for a second season at The Cromwell’s pool club.

“I always have a good time when I’m working,” she said. “Rarely do you find a job that you actually love but have a good time as well. We work hard—but I enjoy myself from start to finish.” It doesn’t hurt that Pracale works at one of the city’s hottest pool clubs, located on the rooftop, which allows for some awesome views. “I think we’re the most beautiful venue that the Strip has to offer,” Pracale said.

At Drai’s, guests can splurge for superior VIP cabanas, lounge on a daybed or hang out in the open-air, shaded bar area. And wherever you happen to park it for the day, Pracale will be there to assist you. “You can relax, come as you are and have a good time; we would love to have you,” she said.

Drai’s Beachclub has 10 specialty cocktails, and one of the most popular picks this summer is the Blueberry Mojito. The crisp, sweet and refreshing cocktail mixes Bacardi Black Razz rum, Bacardi Superior rum, Funkin blueberry purée, fresh-squeezed lime, mint and Badoit sparkling mineral water. Guests can also order mojitos, lemonades and sangrias by the pitcher or in a large souvenir glass; or go boss and order up champagne (10-100 bottles) to spray over the crowds!
