Veronica Ballentos, model cocktail server at Tao nightclub, is in the people business. Although her two careers are like night and day, the core purpose of each job is to help people.

A self-proclaimed military brat, Ballentos was born in Colorado, but has since lived in places like Japan and San Diego, finally settling in Las Vegas for the past decade. It was here that she earned her college degree in healthcare administration and policy from UNLV. She currently works in the utilizations management department at a local hospital, and she has dreams of opening up her own practice with her sister, who is pursuing a career in medicine. “I’ll be the business side and she’ll be the clinical side,” Ballentos said.

Her other career definitely helps people too, but in a much different way. Ballentos’ favorite part of working at The Venetian nightclub is guest interaction. “I love making my guests happy; making their trip to Vegas amazing,” she said. “It’s so rewarding.”

Ballentos has been serving cocktails for nearly two years at Tao, and she said the job just keeps getting better. “I look at working here as a privilege,” she said. “Not a lot of people get to do this. We work in a fun environment.”

So, whether it’s sitting behind a desk getting medical approval for a patient or mixing drinks for guests tableside at Tao, Ballentos couldn’t be happier. Because when it comes down to it, for her, it’s all about the people.
