From the time he was a young boy, Jason Vince had a love for racing. But, “never in a million years did I think I’d be racing cars as a career,” said the Queensland, Australia, native, who actually did become a pro-race car driver.

His career expanded when he came to Las Vegas on vacation in 2010. One of his must-see tourist stops was the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “I came out to the track and got talking to the guys and they said they were looking for a racing instructor,” Vince said.

Today, more than five years after landing the job, Vince loves being a driving instructor at Richard Petty. “The overall goal of what we do is to make sure that the people have a great NASCAR experience, and do it safely,” he said. “That’s our No. 1 goal. And then, after that, we just make sure they have fun.”

Vince sits shotgun while guests put pedal to metal and zoom around the 1.5-mile track. Guests can also experience a ride-along, with Vince in the driver’s seat. Hold on tight, though, as Vince gets up to speeds of 165 mph.

Off the big track, Vince has rekindled his love for racing go-karts. In fact, toward the end of this year, he’ll be working on getting a spot in next year’s SKUSA Supernats, one of the most popular go-kart racing events.
