Keeping track of three different types of pools on a weekly basis, every year, for more than 10 years … no problem, just leave it all to Aaron Knight Rodriguez, general manager of aquatics for Bally’s, Paris and Planet Hollywood resorts.
“In a position like mine I have to remember that I’m running a big party for a lot of people,” said the California native. “So when I think about how stressful the day may be, I take a deep breath and I look around and think, ‘I’m the luckiest guy in the world to be able to produce parties for three different concepts for three different pools on the Las Vegas Strip.’”
While it might seem like a lot to handle—and it definitely is—rest assured that Rodriguez has it all under control, thanks in part to his many years of experience producing large dance parties and entertainment events before joining the three properties. “It’s a balancing act,” he said. “I’ve done it for so long now it just comes natural; I’ve got it down to a science at this point.”
Rodriguez oversees a staff of around 100 and together with the managers of each pool they make sure guests enjoy the particular vibe and amenities of each pool, as each one is distinct. “Bally’s is the classic feel of Las Vegas; Paris is more of an elegant setting; and, if you find yourself in the party mood, I throw a great party at Planet Hollywood,” he said.
Rodriguez splits his time running back and forth between all three properties, making sure all are operating at optimum levels. And while it might seem like a lot to handle, Rodriguez continues to find the fun in his job. “I’m having a blast throwing the parties for all of our guests, so I’m a pretty happy guy.”
