For vice president of Play Management Angelo DiPietro, a friend’s repeated urging to check out Vegas became a career. When the Maine native graduated from the University of Maine, he decided to listen to his pal and move to the city, at least temporarily. Ten years later, he’s still here.
DiPietro started out as a club promoter with Light Group and later moved to Hakkasan, but when Play Management started up, he became the company’s first employee, helping run Light Nightclub and Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay. Today, he’s the company’s vice president, and takes care of many roles, planning marketing and making sure the customers and the artists playing Light all have what they need. And he likes working with his staff. “I love training young hosts and seeing them get better, having them get the customers in and do well.”
Outside of work, DiPietro devotes a lot of energy to his wife and four dogs, and hangs out with his brother and his good friend, both of whom also moved to Vegas from Maine, and has a passion for travel—Paris, Toronto and the Turks and Caicos islands are some favorites.

In Vegas, one of the best things about his job is customer interaction. “I love having customers come out and say, ‘This was the best night of my life, or the best night of the year.’ Because for us, it’s a Tuesday or a Wednesday, but for them, it’s their one big trip of the year.” And he doesn’t want that feeling to end. “Hopefully, we grow this company into a 20-venue company. I love the hospitality industry. Some people don’t enjoy their job. I literally wake up every day excited to go to work.”
