Color Salon's artistic director is shaping her future
Deciding not to go to college was the best decision for Nevada native Breeana Diullo. But she made her father (who wanted her to attend school) a deal—she would get an education in the beauty industry. “I went to the Euphoria Institute, the first in Las Vegas—I was the first graduating class,” she says. Armed with knowledge on all things hair, Diullo landed one of the most coveted positions for any new stylist—an apprenticeship at an upscale Strip salon under celebrity stylist Michael Boychuck.
When Boychuck decided to open a salon at Caesars Palace, he asked Diullo to come with him. That was more than a decade ago, and today Diullo serves as the artistic director for Color Salon by Michael Boychuck. “(Michael’s) a color specialist, that’s all he does, so to get that hands-on experience with someone who has had so much experience and worked with many amazing people ... As I worked with him through the years, it’s been one of the greatest opportunities ever,” she says.
Diullo combines 15 years of experience with her new role of leading the Color team into the future of the industry. “I knew that having the position would bring me closer to the staff,” she says. “But Michael also gave me a great opportunity to be in charge of education. I could be a leader in two aspects—I could teach what I know and pass on knowledge but I can also bring new things to my stylists. I’m always for the next new trend.”
Makeup Brush Sets
At Color Salon it’s not all about hair—also offered are beauty treatments that include extensions, waxing, spray tans, nails, lash applications and makeup. Michael Boychuck also gives his guests a chance to take a piece of the experience home with his new signature collection makeup brush sets. All brushes are vegan with hypoallergenic bristles and come in a 24-piece set for $495 and a five-piece set for $95. –
