Cynthia Balderrama, model cocktail server at Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria, was just 16 years old when she started her modeling career, mostly doing runway and promotional modeling. When she turned 21, she switched over to promo modeling for alcohol brands like Hennessey and Corona. “I wanted to take my journey of promotional modeling in the alcohol industry, serving people and being social—I wanted to take it to the next level, and that was Las Vegas,” says the L.A. native. “Before I moved here, I heard a lot of good things about the Hakkasan Group and how they operate all their venues. They own the biggest clubs on the Strip and I wanted to be a part of that.”

The year after Balderrama moved here, she landed her audition for Liquid and began her first season at the intimate pool club in 2016. She then took two years away from working in the daylife industry, but this year she’s back again at Liquid for her second season. “My favorite part is I love meeting people from all over the world that come to Liquid,” she says. “They come here to have a good experience. It’s my job to make sure they’re taken care of and to give them that best experience. You have to be a part of the party, have fun with your guests.”

When not on the clock, you can find Balderrama diligently studying for her real estate license. You’ll also find her working the needle and sewing machine—she designs and makes her own swimsuits. “I’ve always loved fashion,” she says. “One day, I hope to start my own swimsuit line.”

Libation: Berry Madness

A bonus of the intimate pool club is that Liquid Pool Lounge offers an elevated menu of cocktails and food. Specialty cocktails are handcrafted using fresh ingredients like fresh fruits. A fruity and refreshing pick is the Berry Madness. A mix of Absolut Raspberri vodka, Chambord liqueur, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice and fresh blueberries and blackberries. This week, don’t miss Liquid’s #ZeroDucksGiven party, Aug. 22. The duck-themed pool party fills the pool with tons of mini ducks and inflatables of all sizes; and on the decks, hip-hop musical duo HardNox will keep it turned up with their party sounds.
