Seek a Night of Revelry
Bellagio hot spot is two clubs in one
After two years in operation, Hyde Bellagio impresses as a nightspot that’s more than meets the eye.
Looking something like a Mediterranean villa that’s been transplanted into Las Vegas, with its highly stylized interior and terrace overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio, Hyde is a combination lounge and nightclub. The space evolves from a chill cocktail spot in the evening to a full-fledged party by 10:30 p.m., so you’re welcome to either or both.
The nightly DJs are some of the best in the biz, but the monthly XIV parties, imported from Hyde’s Los Angeles outpost, are probably the club’s standout experience. The themed XIV Vegas Sessions have become quite popular, with its extravagant styling and costumed revelers and performers alike making for a complete venue takeover. The next XIV party on Feb. 16 is “Neon Jungle” themed, so you’ll want to bust out those glowing wardrobe pieces.
And you don’t necessarily have to shell out for bottle service for one of those coveted booths at the terrace overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio. You get a great view of the lovely fountains, lake and the Las Vegas Strip, from many spots within the club.
The cocktail menu is top-notch, with a few recent signature drinks worthy of attention. Two are fun versions of classic cocktails: the Blood Orange Margarita features Casamigos tequila, Aperol, orange juice and freshly pressed lime, while the Bloody Sand combines Dewar’s White Label, Antica Formula vermouth, Cherry Heering and sangrita, with a little flourish from a burst of flame, as the bartender lights a match on an orange disk right above the drink.
You’ll also want to consider the Chai Tini, which mixes brewed chai, Bailey’s and vanilla vodka for a sweet and creamy libation that’s sure to warm you up.
Bellagio Opens at 5 p.m. daily; club open till 4 a.m. Tues. and Fri.–Sat. 702.693.8700
