You may currently be in the desert and as far away from the islands as you can get, but you can still seek out tropical sips, hangs and beachy vibes.

Land in Margaritaville at Flamingo—a multistory venue that transports people to the Caribbean islands complete with beachy design, erupting volcano, lush jungle and a huge menu of tropical cocktails. Rum drinks run the gamut; margarita flavors are aplenty; specialty cocktails combine tropical flavors like pineapple, coconut and mango; and guests can get real tipsy from the huge cocktails served in mock blenders.

The newest getaway on the Strip is Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge at The Mirage. Guests can sit inside at the bar or lounge around under big umbrellas outdoors with lush landscaping while sipping on rum cocktails like the 100 Foot Wave, which uses three different rums: Coruba dark Jamaican rum, Ron del Barrilito 3 Star rum and El Dorado 12-year rum. Or indulge the whole group with huge, shareable cocktails like the Kiwi Do You Love Me? Cigar and hookah smokers can indulge here, too, with a robust menu of options.

For a real immersive island experience, take the fun over to locals favorite and Chinatown hidden gem Golden Tiki. It’s Disneyland for adults with kitschy tiki décor and some of the best island-inspired cocktails available in the entire city. Bonus: You can order cocktails made with the famed Hawaiian delight, Dole Whip. Get the Dole Whip Float with dark rum or the Banana Batida made with cachaça, banana liqueur, coconut cream, pineapple juice and Dole Whip.

Find paradise on Kassi Beach House’s lush and large patio at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It’s Mediterranean mixed with Italian vibes and cocktails to match. Popular picks include the Jamaica Fresca with mezcal, lime and hibiscus; or enjoy island-inspired slushies or signature drink The Kassi, with lime, watermelon, Calabrian chili and a pick-your-poison: tequila, vodka, gin or rum.

A last stop should include Electra Cocktail Club at The Palazzo. While not so tropically designed, here you can sip on a nice selection of world-renowned bartender Sam Ross’ tropical-tasting cocktails like the Disgruntled Mai Tai, with two types of premium rum.
