When it comes to beauty, put your trust in oil
Take a walk on the oily side and find your skin’s new best friend. Oils, one of the most misunderstood skincare products, and often avoided, can basically be the foundation of youth. A good facial oil helps maintain moisture and protect from moisture loss. Even for oily skin, hydration is key—oils such as jojoba can, in moderation, reduce oil production. Oils’ smaller molecular structure allows for deeper penetration. Dry skin types should use oil with more essential fatty acids such as rosehip, avocado or flaxseed oil. For combination skin, help balance dry patches and oil production with plant-based oils such as marula, carrot seed, olive, grapeseeed or raspberry seed. Acne-prone skin benefits from oils with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, such as argan, rosehip or jojoba oil.
Use your oil in the morning and evening after washing your face and before (or mixed in with) your moisturizer. 1. Eve Lom Radiance face oil ($80), Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show; 2.
