A great many people in the U.S. celebrate the nation’s birth with dips in the pool, ice cream and pyrotechnics. For some real fireworks, you’ll find many restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip serving up some of their best dishes—a backyard barbecue, but better.
If you are in the mood for a burger, head over to Gordon Ramsay BurGR at Planet Hollywood Resort, where you’ll find the Hell’s Kitchen burger, grilled over alder and apple hardwoods, and topped with asadero cheese, avocado, oven-roasted tomato and roasted jalapeños. It’s a flavor explosion in your mouth.
There are also ribs aplenty. St. Louis-style ones at Double Barrel Roadhouse at Monte Carlo come in full- and half-rack. Or opt for loaded nachos with wood-grilled chicken.
For more hearty meals, Vegas’ steakhouses offer some of the best steaks on the continent. Here are just a few of those goodies: 35 Steaks & Martinis at Hard Rock Hotel dry-ages its bone-in Kansas City strip for 35 days before it hits your plate. Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak at The Mirage and his Craftsteak at MGM Grand both cook their bone-in ribeyes over wood-burning grills, yet each has a different, beautiful presentation.
McCall’s at Stratosphere gives you yet another ribeye, boneless with a mushroom sauce, prepared over charcoal. You can also try a smaller, more delicate filet. At Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian, the thick, intense ribeye is served with little to distract.
One of the newest places on the Strip, Bazaar Meat at SLS Las Vegas gives you a bundle of carnivorous choices. The skirt steak here is a succulent Mishima reserve wagyu sourced out of Washington. Strip House at Planet Hollywood Resort will bring you a gorgeous New York strip that is also the source of the restaurant’s name. At Palms, N9NE Steakhouse has been popular with locals and celebs for years; Barry’s Steak is a modest 10-ounce prime rib cap, but you can get a 44–ounce prime ribeye tomahawk. The menu says it’s for two, but you could feed the whole gang on this one. And if you need to add dessert, you can do that there by toasting gourmet marshmallows for s’mores, over flame, right at your table!
