Have you ever seen those electronic tablets that have become popular as cocktail menus? They’re a little like Tinder for drinks. At Stack in The Mirage, you swipe left and right, and if you’re lucky, you’ll end up with something like the Berrylicious, a drink that’s a little enticing but totally sweet, with berries and Belvedere Black Raspberry and a skewer of berries topping it off. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, keep swiping—the pina colada martini has a little bit of a sexy edge, a coco-sugar dark rum rim.

And that seductive, playful vibe permeates Stack, which is in itself a sexy-looking room, dark and beckoning. Appropriately, stacked wood walls tower above, creating a canyonlike feel, from the bar area located just off the casino floor to the depths of the dining room.

Stack’s eclectic menu makes the restaurant and bar a perfect stop before or after the show, or anytime you’re craving a little tapas-style action. But you’ll be just as happy if you take your time at dinner.

Start your meal with crispy rock shrimp, a little salty and sweet meaty treat served with a ponzu and sweet chili dipping sauces. Edamame falafel is crispy outside, as a proper falafel should be, yet incredibly smooth and flavorful, served with tahini.

When you hit up the entrées, Stack offers such items as a Ritz cracker and king crab stuffed lobster, Maine lobster curry (also available in a vegetarian version) and butternut squash stuffed shells. Brown butter sauce lends a wonderfully earthy taste to the shells with kale adding a little crunch. If you crave hearty meat, it’s here, too, with beefy offerings including the 14-ounce Brooklyn filet, a gorgeous cut that wows you from the get-go. Burgundy butter and peppercorn sauce really enhance the meat.

With a creamy four-cheese potato gratin and luscious roasted mushrooms with cherry tomatoes and garlic breadcrumbs rounding out your main course, you might be tempted to skip the dessert options.

But why? Stack’s sweets deliver a childlike joyous feel, from the jelly doughnut holes to the mini dessert sampler. The cute little doughnuts come with dipping sauces, but you may be too busy popping them in one after another to even bother stopping to dip. Strawberry shortcake, mini ice cream cone rolled in nuts, blueberry pie, banana cream pie (heavy on the topping, hurray) and mint chocolate chip bon bons may leave you in ecstasy.
