For five hours every Saturday, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Lounge transforms into a brunch of bacchanalian proportions. Making people merry since 2011, the Lavo Party Brunch is part food, part cocktails and all over-the-top fun.
Let’s start with decadent menu items like almond-crusted French toast with cinnamon and panettone, lemon ricotta waffles with glazed apples and whipped yogurt and white polenta pancakes with whipped Nutella butter and hazelnut crunch. For those looking for lighter fare, avocado toast with poached cage-free egg and Calabrian chili or roasted beet salad with goat cheese and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette are tasty options. There are Lavo’s classic Italian specialties, too, including pastas, pizzas and meatballs. There are raw bar options and indulgent selections like the seafood plateau grande with jumbo shrimp, oysters, Little Neck clams, whole lobster, tuna ceviche and more.
Spirits flow aplenty at the party brunch, and specialty cocktails can be ordered by the pitcher or in brunch bowls. But heads really spin when your group orders one of the experiential packages to enjoy, like the ultimate bloody Mary. This behemoth comes in a giant ice goblet and is filled with Tito’s Handmade vodka, San Marzano tomatoes, cold-pressed celery and lemon juices, aged balsamic, horseradish and spices, then it’s filled to the brim with 18 shrimp, a pound of king crab and crispy pancetta. Other experiential packages include a Belgian waffle sundae with 16 scoops of ice cream and assorted candy and topped with a bottle of Avion espresso liqueur. There are also champagne packages, and the bottle presentation parade comes complete with cocktail servers holding sparklers while they dance on over to your table.
Speaking of dancing: To your right and to your left, and everywhere in between at Lavo Party Brunch, are people up on their tables dancing the sunlight away. Yes, you can dance on tables while live DJs spin everything from hip-hop and top 40 to EDM. The strobe lights, confetti cannons and glow sticks add to the nightclub-vibe fun. And this Saturday, expect some special themed surprises as the brunch celebrates a festive holiday edition!
