Magical Cuisine

Its location on the dramatic mezzanine overlooking a lively casino floor—just steps away from the Criss Angel Theater—makes this Japanese restaurant feel like true destination dining. But don’t worry. This is one experience that will live up to the highest expectations. Koi (Planet Hollywood Resort, 702.454.4555) is known for its sexy, celebrity-magnet atmosphere just as much as its refined cuisine.

Go crazy on the shared plates section of the menu, loaded with irresistible dishes such as Koi crispy rice with spicy tuna, creamy and crispy shrimp tempura, yuzu hamachi with truffle essence, lobster tacos with mango salsa and guacamole and Kobe beef potstickers.

Save space for exalted entrees like miso-bronzed black cod, an impossibly rich fish you won’t be able to stop eating, and wasabi-braised beef short ribs served with root vegetables and tempura onion rings. Koi puts its own style on every plate and that makes this restaurant a must-eat.

Firefly

The lively and innovative eatery that first introduced Las Vegas to Spanish-style tapas has a new location in one of the most exciting restaurant neighborhoods in Las Vegas. Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar (7355 S. Buffalo Drive, 702.202.1339) has a bright and fresh new look in its southwest spot but is serving up the same beloved small plates that made its original restaurant just off the Strip such a hot spot. Bring out the pitchers of sangria and get the party started with shrimp ceviche, tuna tartare on taro chips, and luscious Serrano ham with Manchego cheese served with grilled bread. Don’t forget the bacon-wrapped dates.
