For years, the mechanical bull at PBR Rock Bar & Grill was symbolic for having a bucking good time. Unfortunately, until further notice, that bull is yet another casualty of the pandemic. But even though watching strangers fall face first onto a cushioned bull ring was entertaining, that was never the draw. Instead, it’s always been about the delicious cocktails and upscale bar food.
Maybe you’ve seen the signature Porch Pounders, a shared cocktail served in a 100- or 50-ounce punch bowl. Flavors abound, such as the Afternoon Delight, a mix of pineapple vodka, rum, pineapple juice and piña colada mix. And show up hungry, because the portions are massive, and you’ll want to try more than one thing. Start with fried pickle spears, then favorites like the Margherita pizza, bacon mac and cheese, smoked brisket or the gargantuan Double Trouble burger.
