A masterful understanding of wine is often seen as the pinnacle of sophistication, and if you’ve ever wanted to boost your knowledge, Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar offers Taste & Learn, a monthly wine-tasting dinner where you can learn about some of Italy’s most revered wines.

This month’s tasting (6 p.m., April 24, $75) features wines from Corte dei Venti, an exceptional vineyard that produces Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino. On the menu, you’ll find a 2019 Lu Bancu Catarratto paired with burrata; a 2018 Rosso di Montalcino paired with carpaccio Piemontese, a carpaccio of filet mignon with royal trumpet mushrooms, arugula and Parmigiano Reggiano; a 2017 Super Tuscan paired with dark chocolate rigatoni with wild boar and porcini ragu; and a 2017 Brunello paired with roasted quail topped with black truffle sauce, creamy pecorino polenta, seared maitake mushroom and winter truffles.
