Local Arts District restaurant Esther’s Kitchen recently added a new dimension to the popular dining destination. The Greenhouse Village consists of eight outdoor dining pods created from portable greenhouses, each one that serves four persons. Each one is completely outfitted with table, heat, chairs, carpeting, music and art.

“We sat down and thought about ways to resolve some of our guests’ ongoing concerns, as well as the current limitations, and this is what came together,” said James Trees, chef/owner of Esther’s, in a release. And although pod dining has been a reaction to the past year’s problems, it’s an idea that has been around for years.

The greenhouse diners can order from the full menu, and additional specials will be available. Greenhouse pods must be reserved in advance.
