A lot of food items get their special day—spaghetti, whipped cream, bagels, popcorn, you name it. But some even get a whole month. And what would you expect from one of the best creations to ever grace our planet? The burger is just a perfect thing, a balance of meat, bread and all the toppings you can imagine. And while you might think you’ve had the best burger of your life already, think again! Las Vegas is celebrating National Burger Month in a big way, and you’ve got some exploring and discovering to do. Get to it!

Anyone who follows celebrity chef Bobby Flay know that he’s a huge fan of the burger. No doubt you’ve seen some of his mouth-watering creations on the Food Network over the years. Now you can experience Flay’s burger passion first-hand at his new restaurant at Caesars Palace, Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay. There’s so much to tempt you here, and they all have those Flay touches you’ve come to know and love. There’s the Crunchburger, topped with cheese and potato chips (a Flay favorite), and the Nacho burger, topped with queso, tomato salsa and pickled jalapeños (pictured on the cover of this week’s issue).

Sickie’s Garage Burgers & Brews at Town Square added four new burgers to its already impressively decadent menu to celebrate the occasion. There are plenty of inventive, original creations here, but a few you definitely want to check out: The Sickcilian, a sausage patty topped with marinara, pepperoni, peperoncini, provolone cheese, ham, lettuce and mayo; and the Mozzerati, a half-pound Angus beef burger patty topped with deep-fried cheese curds, marinara and mozzarella cheese. (Insider tip: Sign up for the rewards program to snag a free burger!)

If you want a change of pace from the usual ground beef burger, you’ll want to check out the ultra-flavorful jerk turkey burger at Carson Kitchen downtown. It’s part of a new spring menu from chef/owner Cory Harwell and executive chef Scott Simon, and it’s a revelation, served with mango chutney slaw.

For a truly over-the-top experience, order the Hangover burger at Favorite Bistro at the Linq Promenade. Made with a half-pound of Black Angus beef and smothered with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, cheese sauce, fries with bacon, ketchup demi, mayo and a sunny-side up egg, it’s hard to tell if this is meant to cure a hangover or give you one. Either way, it’s unforgettable and, like the movie it’s named after, so Vegas!

Some of you want that burger experience, but you’re vegetarian or vegan. No problem! There are options all over town, but for one of the best, head to Hearthstone at Red Rock Resort, where you can get an Impossible burger with some delicious toppings like vegan cheddar, fresh veggies, vegan mayonnaise and avocado spread.
