One of the most colorful restaurants in Las Vegas, Superfrico, recently opened at The Cosmopolitan, and it’s a super-fun, very unique venue. It’s divided into several areas, each with a different vibe, but all sort of going together. “With Superfrico, we’ve truly upped the ante in our quest to deliver the unexpected in Vegas,” said Ross Mollison, Spiegelworld founder, in a release.

When you first enter the massive doors to Superfrico, you’ll wait in a roundish anteroom that builds anticipation for your entry. The Artery dining room is decorated with neon, lots of art and plush booths, a little like your living room, complete with an arty fireplace, but maybe a lot more moody. Other areas include the Studio, where a DJ spins and diners chill—and a bar runs down the room. The Ski Lodge features a fire and picture window, while the Bottle-O lets you purchase house-blended and bottled cocktail flasks to indulge in while you’re there (or to take with you).

I highly recommend starting with a drink, like the Porn Star martini—El Tequileño blanco, Aperol and other tangy fruit flavors. It goes down so easy. If you are observing Sober October, the Gingered Ale of Softcore Soda offer a fine alternative.

The spicy olives, with Taggiasca, Castelvetrano and red Cerignola olives, are freaking fantastic. Like edamame, they are nearly impossible to stop munching on. Meatballs Sicilianu are concocted with dry-aged beef, saffron and pine nuts, and you may fight your dining companion for the last one. The pizzas come square and round, with the square oozing the frico (hence, “Superfrico”). The pistachio mortadella features pistachio pesto and house stracciatella. There’s also chicken Parm, fish and pasta like the king crab bucatini. As you eat, you’ll find a number of colorful characters wandering through, from comedians to Chewbacca’s twin. It’s all part of the charm.
