February 14 doesn’t need to be the only night you take that special someone for a memorable meal at one of the city’s most stunning dining destinations. Here are just a few of the restaurants that offer fabulous food and a romantic atmosphere all year long.
What could spark romance more naturally than time spent in Paris? The Eiffel Tower Restaurant (702.948.6937) at Paris is as close as it gets to the real thing, a regal meal of updated classic French cuisine with elevated views of the Bellagio Fountains and the Strip. It’s an ideal destination to go all out with signature offerings such as beef Wellington, whole Dover sole, escargots a la Bourguignonne and a Valrhona chocolate or classic Grand Marnier souffle, but this menu is truly versatile. You could also sip champagne with a chilled seafood tower, or go vegetarian with a beautifully composed creation of Swiss chard, squash and marinated tofu.
For a wildly different take on French cuisine and a decidedly modern energy, visit the vibrant L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (702.891.7358) at MGM Grand, where the innovative approach of the “Chef of the Century” is showcased through playful interaction and experimentation. Take a couple of seats at the counter and watch culinary creativity at play while sampling colorful dishes such as caramelized kampachi with endive salad, foie gras-stuffed quail, poached kusshi oysters with French salted butter, and crisp langoustine fritters with basil pesto. If exploration is your love language, this unique destination is the place for you.
One of the best restaurants to find a classic Vegas experience is actually in Henderson. Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis (702.617.7515) at Green Valley Ranch has long been one of the most beloved steakhouses in the valley, and its sleek-yet-charming décor and regular live entertainment creates special occasion vibes every night. Make a reservation, explore the vast wine selection, pick your favorite steak from Hank’s domestic and Japanese cuts, and don’t skip the tableside bananas Foster for two.
On the opposite end of the valley, Echo & Rig (702.489.3525) at Tivoli Village is a favorite steakhouse with a more casual atmosphere and a vast selection of shareable small plates on the menu perfect for an intimate date night. Have a martini at the downstairs bar before ascending a grand staircase and sharing white risotto with blistered tomatoes, lamb cigars with tzatziki sauce, and Maryland lump crab cakes to get you started. An expertly grilled steak from the in-house butcher shop is always a good idea, but if you’re looking for something lighter, check out the shrimp and artichokes in a white wine and lemon-caper sauce or organic king salmon with purple sweet potatoes.
Sometimes the most romantic experience is one of familiarity, a return to a place or experience where everything just feels right. To fit that bill, look no further than Piero’s Italian Cuisine (702.369.2305), the old-school Italian institution near the Las Vegas Convention Center.
