If you’re a wine connoisseur and want to feel like a kid in a candy store, schedule a stop at Wally’s Wine & Spirits, home to one of the largest wine collections on the entire Las Vegas Strip—more than 8,000 bottles, most of which are prominently displayed in the dining area and all of which are for sale, both to uncork at your table and to take with you to make the oenophiles at home jealous.
But to call Wally’s a wine paradise is only scratching the surface. This is a terrific place to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, and all three courses have delightful options for palates of all types. If it’s early and you’re famished, you’ll want to chow down on salmon avocado toast; if it’s later in the evening, don’t miss the crispy veal sweetbreads. And for lunch, afternoon wine flights (daily from 3-5 p.m.) pair amazingly with dishes like duck confit or truffle pizza. Desserts like pistachio profiteroles, caramel apple cheesecake or milk and cookies are just the cherry on top. (Dare we say you’ll want to pair a dessert wine with these?)
But breakfast, lunch and dinner are only the beginning! Wally’s also has plenty of special menus for that extra-special occasion. If you’ve got the coin, the Caviar and Cheese menu features delights like reserve and Polish osetra, Polish Siberian and Kaluga imperial caviar, ranging from 28 to 250 grams. Once you’ve chosen from this list, grab a few cheese selections, from OG Kristal Gouda and Shropshire Blue to Meredith feta and Etorki. Or pair them with charcuterie choices like sopressata picante, chorizo Iberico or Brooklyn-cured salami.
In the mood for more than one type of wine? Head straight for the Flight Menu. A fan of sparkling? Try Gosset Grande Réserve Epernay, Roederer Estate Rosé Anderson Valley NV and Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle No. 25 for $45. How about reds? Sample Jean-Louis Chave Offerus, Saint-Joseph, Vietti Barbera D’asti and Beronia Gran Reserva, Rioja, for $35.
If you’re a newcomer to the sport of wine, good news! You can grab a table (reservations are recommended) for a sommelier-led experience. One meal and you’ll feel not only full but filled with knowledge you can use to impress others in the future.
