Paul Zerdin shares quite a bit in common with Terry Fator. Both men are ventriloquists of the highest order; both were victorious on America’s Got Talent; and both have shows on the Las Vegas Strip. But unlike Fator, the British Zerdin eschews a family-friendly show for one with a goodly amount of adult humor.

Using a trio of puppets—a baby, a young boy and a very old man—Zerdin lets the comedy fly fast and loose, displaying an amazing vocal range in the process. In one brilliant bit, Zerdin provides a clicking beat, eventually providing both the beat and the voice of the puppet humming along to Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner.”

Be prepared for some audience participation as well. Zerdin will be plucking a couple from each crowd to make them his “puppets,” using masks he controls with a remote. It’s a bit he made famous with Howie Mandel on AGT, and the results in his show are no less hilarious. Be prepared to laugh—a lot.
