Fuerza Bruta, a wildly successful, tent-set touring production currently in front of the Excalibur Hotel & Casino, relentlessly entertains you for an hour with not only visuals and music but wind and water. It’s as immersive an entertainment experience as you’re likely to find on the Las Vegas Strip.

There are no seats at Fuerza Bruta—You stand wherever you want within the performance area, and staff members occasionally instruct you to move to accommodate the next set piece. You will look straight ahead, to your right, to your left, up and down; you will reach out to touch props, whether directly in front of you or directly above you; and you will watch and be watched. It’s a sensory experience unlike any other on the Strip.

At times, the show feels like the world’s craziest nightclub, with DJs instructing the crowd to dance and blaring truck horns; other times, it’s like being at an outdoor concert, with the performers moving through the crowd; other times, it’s like being in the middle of a Cirque du Soleil performance, but you are allowed to reach out and make contact with the sets and performers.

Highlights include: A large sheet draped over the crowd and then inflated to become a tent above them, through which performers attached to cables descend; a transparent swimming pool suspended over the crowd, allowing a view of the performers frolicking in the water; and a man walking and running endlessly (even sleeping!) on a treadmill as people and props continually get in his way.

It’s a deliriously fun experience, but if you want to catch Fuerza Bruta, you’d better hurry—the touring show’s last performance in Vegas is April 7.
