The Right Vibes

Only in Las Vegas will you get an Academy Award-winning musician DJing at a pool party. Mark Ronson, who co-wrote Lady Gaga’s Oscar champ “Shallow” and has crafted songs in collaboration with Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars and Miley Cyrus, spins at the opening of Jemaa at the NoMad Pool on April 13. But first up, Ronson returns to his residency at On the Record, the retro nightclub at Park MGM.

“The great thing about Vegas now is that it’s really the hub of the dance music universe,” he says. “And what I love about NoMad and On the Record is when I came out to see Lady Gaga’s show, we’re walking through this (resort) that’s just beautiful and super elegant, and then it’s straight up to this cool club and the booth and I just played. It felt vibey, kind of like New York and other places where I came up.”

Among the most well-known names in Las Vegas entertainment, Donny and Marie Osmond recently announced the final show in their eponymous showroom at the iconic Flamingo is set for Nov. 16. What started as a six-week engagement in September 2008 grew into a pitch-perfect production that proved so popular, the sometimes silly, always sensational siblings continued to renew their agreement with the Strip’s original hotel and casino. And whether you’ve seen the show or not, their collective musicality and genre-spanning talent will blow you away. Donny & Marie perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and maintain a full schedule this month. With time running out, this show is the very definition of must-see Vegas entertainment.

Around the Strip

Your favorite reality TV dating shows took over Las Vegas on one recent Saturday night. At the Rio, Bachelorette winner Garrett Yrigoyen was cheered on by fiancé Becca Kufrin and The Bachelor co-stars Tia Booth and Caroline Lunny as he stripped down onstage for a one-night-only turn as celebrity host of Chippendales The Show. Yrigoyen follows in the footsteps of recent guest hosts Tyson Beckford and Tony Dovolani, and the next TV name set to take the Chippendales stage is Jersey Shore favorite Vinny Guadagnino on April 26.

Meanwhile on Las Vegas Boulevard, The Bachelor couple Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph took in the Vegas Golden Knights-Detroit Red Wings game from the luxurious environs of Hyde Lounge at T-Mobile Arena, sipping on Casamigos and Hendrick’s cocktails at a VIP table with Randolph’s sister, Michelle, and former Disney Channel star Gregg Sulkin.

The members of pop girl group Fifth Harmony continue to branch out into their own individual solo careers and they’re all rolling through Las Vegas along the way. Ally Brooke recently took the stage at Tao Nightclub at The Venetian to perform her singles “Vámonos,” “Cupid” and “Low Key,” then took some time for photos with fans. She dined at Tao’s restaurant before the show and was visited by Corbyn Besson and Jonah Marais from Why Don’t We, the boy band that played the Pearl at the Palms to adoring, screaming fans that same night.

Just in time for March Madness, the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod unveiled two new ways to enjoy all the greatest sports action: The William Hill Sports Book, a spacious venue featuring a 110-foot wraparound high-resolution LED screen and the cozy View Lounge overlooking the action; and the nearby, 6,000-square-foot BLVD & MAIN Taphouse, a mega-tavern with signature dishes like the Downtown Burger, poutine and chilled Maine crab rolls and its own signature craft beer, Jaywalker, among the two dozen draft selections.
