Countess Luann de Lesseps: A storied life
How many times can you say you’ve seen a countess sing modern cabaret-style songs? How about a former countess who still uses the moniker countess? Perhaps countess is a state of mind more than an actual title.
That seems to be the case with Countess Luann de Lesseps, one of the stars of the hit Bravo reality television show The Real Housewives of New York City. The former wife of Count Alexandre de Lesseps still retains a fabulous lifestyle and even uses the title #COUNTESSANDFRIENDS to describe her variety show.
The stage show features de Lesseps telling juicy stories of her time on Real Housewives as well as anecdotes of her up and down times as a recognizable socialite. During her New York run of shows, drop-in guests included actress Rachel Dratch and fellow Housewives star Sonja Morgan. One can only imagine who will hit the stage with de Lesseps in Las Vegas.
And, of course, she sings. Countess Luann has released three singles over the past decade: “Money Can’t Buy You Class,” “Chic, C’est la Vie,” and “Girl Code.” The production heavy tracks are designed to get people off their butts and dance. It’s as if she’s molded herself after a latter-day Cher, which is a perfect fit for Las Vegas.
