An Unforgettable Voice

When we last caught up with pop-opera singer Daniel Emmet, he was reflecting on his success as a finalist on America’s Got Talent, staying focused on his goal of shining a light on classical music and teasing some of the exciting projects he’d be working on later this year. We didn’t know one of those projects would bring him back to the stage at Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace, where he performed with the cast of Cocktail Cabaret.

His All That I Am limited engagement opened at the Barge last week and continues on Sept. 1, 6 and 22-23, when he’ll be showcasing his incredible vocal range with ballads, rock favorites and at least one song in another language.

Must-See: Hans Klok

He calls himself “the world’s fastest magician” and there’s a reason for that. Dutch superstar Hans Klok fits an unbelievable number of illusions into his new show at the Thunderland showroom at Excalibur, which he’s performing Monday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 and 7:30 p.m. And it’s not just rapid-fire delivery that will amaze you; Klok mixes some of his favorites like Harry Blackstone’s floating light bulb trick into the set with his own modern creations, including a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it transformation into another person. A master magician in his element on the Vegas stage, Klok is ready to wow.

Around the Strip

Janet Jackson made the most of her last run at Park Theater, stopping in at two of Park MGM’s nightspots after one of her last Metamorphosis performances with dancers and crew members. They hit Juniper Cocktail Lounge and On the Record nightclub.

While in town for preview performances of her Forever Your Girl residency at the Flamingo, Paula Abdul took some time offstage and off the ground, soaring above The Linq Promenade on the FlyLinq zipline. Abdul is back at the Flamingo on Oct. 22.

Actor Vince Vaughn visited Caesars Palace to take in Absinthe and share a few snappy one-liners with the Gazillionaire after the show.

Olivia Pierson

Olivia Pierson

Emmy-winning actor Darren Criss from The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and his wife Mia Swier caught The Cosmopolitan’s comedy show Opium recently with friends Lauren Lopez and Joey Richter from L.A. production The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals.

Olivia Pierson, star of E! network hit Relatively Nat & Liv, partied at the Palms to celebrate her 29th birthday. It began with dinner at Scotch 80 Prime with sister Sophia and cousin and co-star Natalie Halcro and continued at Kaos Nightclub, where Marshmello was in command from the DJ booth and fellow model and reality star Nicole Williams joined the party. The group kept it going the following Saturday for Kaos Dayclub, where pro skateboarders Leticia Bufoni and Nyjah Huston also enjoyed the atmosphere.
