“I was terrified when my doctor told me that I had a unique and interesting personality trait …” the energetic Doug Stanhope says, laying the trap for his audience. He continues, “But then he told me about new Zoloft or Prozac and now I just take three pills a day and I blend right into this horrible inbred corporate landscape.”
Stanhope has always raged against the machine, which is why he might not be a household name, but he is a comedian that other comics love. The Bisbee, Ariz.-based funnyman isn’t afraid to tackle any subject.
Las Vegas considers Stanhope, 52, something of a hometown hero, as the comic spent much of his developmental phase grinding it out at local mics. His work ethic could be seen back in his Sin City days and is easily one of his best traits.
Welcome back, Doug.
