Aaron Carter had all the right moves and the wind at his back as he entered his teens. Initially drawn to performing as an adolescent witnessing brother Nick Carter’s rise to fame with the Backstreet Boys, he released his debut self-titled album in 1997 (1998 in the States) at age 9, scored his first Top 40 hit with “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” at 12, and starred in his first movie (Popstar) before he turned 18 in 2005. He appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2009, but continued to nurture his base with live appearances throughout his 20s.

Carter needed a reset by 2011 and started off the year by entering rehab, six months before Amy Winehouse passed away. He closed out the year by starring in an Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, and gave his music career a jump in 2013 when he went on a major tour. He suffered ups and downs since, including a tumultuous 2017 when a DUI and severe weight loss worried longtime fans that, as school students, saw him open for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. He gave them less to be concerned with last year as he regained weight and maintained an upward trajectory, touring tirelessly behind his most recent album, LøVë.
