How many times have you watched The Little Mermaid or Splash! and thought, "How exactly would one swim with a mermaid fin?" Well, wonder no more. On Saturday, June 15, Westgate Las Vegas will conduct its very own Mermaid Classes, and whether you're a kid or a kid at heart, you can participate.
Head over to the third-floor Westgate Pool (next to Serenity Spa), don your tail made of bathing suit material, and you're ready to receive instruction from Mermaid Farasha, along with her mermaid helper. The hour-long classes cover everything you could ever want to know about if you were actually a mermaid: stretching poolside, tail safety, tail removal in the water and treading water. In addition, you'll learn about undulation breathing instruction, dolphin kicks/mermaid undulation, a "code of ethics" and a meditation cool-down, mermaid-style. After your class is over, take a group photo in an oversized clam!
Children's classes for ages 7-11 begin at 9 a.m. Adult classes for ages 12 and up begin at 10:30 a.m. Cost per person is $40, which includes the tail rental fee. Reserve your spot by calling 702.732.5648.
