Close your eyes and imagine just what an octopus’s garden or Lucy’s sky full of diamonds would look like. Not in your wildest dreams could you concoct a world as vibrant and bold as The Beatles LOVE. It’s part concert, part circus, but all fun.
This Cirque du Soleil production is more dance-heavy than some, which perfectly complements The Beatles soundtrack. The theater in the round lets action pour over guests from all angles as aerialists flip down from the ceiling and trampoline artists bounce in tandem with innumerable rotations, all perfectly timed to The Beatles’ beats.
Actual performers interact with virtual versions of The Beatles projected onto screens throughout the theater, giving the feel of a sneak peek into the recording studio. And even the more traditional Cirque elements are punctuated by unique acts like inline skaters on ramps, bubble blowers and a spring-loaded human jack-in-the-box. One act puts a literal spotlight on dance, as the theater goes dark except for illuminated individuals as they test the human body’s bounds of strength and flexibility.
