He’s Got the Goods

Hot on the heels of his newest solo album Chip Tooth Smile, Rob Thomas brings his distinctive grin and the Chip Tooth Tour to town. The Grammy Award-winning frontman from alt rock band Matchbox Twenty earned legions of fans in the ’90s as his band quickly rose to fame and he continued to maintain his stardom as a solo artist, returning to the top of the charts once again.

Don’t let the fact he’s been cranking out hits for nearly a quarter century make you dwell on how old that makes you. Just give in to the fact that while you’ve always dominated “Smooth” at karaoke, you really need to sing it with Rob Thomas live.

Fans of Matchbox Twenty hits won’t have to stay up until “3AM” to hear Thomas’ emotive vocals on the band’s string of popular radio hits like “Push” and “If You’re Gone.” He’ll keep the party going with his popular solo tracks like “This Is How a Heart Breaks” and “Ever the Same.”

The talented songwriter knows how to hit fans right in the feels with breakup and makeup songs sure to make concertgoers reminisce about the significant others these songs represent for them. Perhaps that crush may have been on Thomas himself, who’s made People’s 50 Most Beautiful People list. We won’t judge if you swoon a little.

The alt rocker-turned-pop star’s newest single, “One Less Day” (Dying Young), from his recently released album, focuses on being grateful for each day, something fans at his show will be sure to embrace as they get hooked on his next hit song. And for extra appeal, up-and-coming country pop singer Abby Anderson opens the show. –Allison Duck
