Being a pop songwriter is a craft as much as it is an art, and the best songwriters in the business can tailor their styles for a variety of genres, while retaining their gifts for indelible hooks, gorgeous melodies and clever lyrics. When he set out to become a songwriter, Jon Bellion chose to train with the best, spending time under the tutelage of pop-music wizard (and former American Idol judge) Kara DioGuardi. Bellion has since worked as a songwriter, producer, musician, singer and rapper alongside artists like Eminem, Rihanna, Zedd and Jason Derulo, and he’s released solo hits including “All Time Low” and “Conversations With My Wife.”

Although he’s currently on his largest headlining tour to date, and previously spent time opening for popular alt-rockers Twenty One Pilots, Bellion still isn’t as recognizable as many of the artists he’s worked with, and as a songwriter, he values being a bit of a professional chameleon. “It’s okay to be mega-successful and not famous,” he told Spotify’s Under Cover podcast before launching his latest tour. “Because if you’re about the music, then your product will speak for itself.” For Bellion, the product has been speaking loud and clear.
