When Florida pop-punk band New Found Glory signed with influential indie label Drive-Thru Records in 2000, their very first release was an EP titled From the Screen to Your Stereo, featuring covers of well-known songs from movie soundtracks, including ballads like Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” and kitschy compositions like the theme from The Neverending Story. That playful sense of humor has defined NFG’s entire career, and the band returned to From the Screen to Your Stereo with follow-up releases in 2007 (including songs from movies like Reality Bites and Romeo + Juliet) and this past May (including Frozen’s “Let It Go.”).

Appropriately enough, the band’s new tour is dubbed From the Screen to Your Stereo to Your Town, featuring songs from the brand-new release along with original NFG favorites like “Hit or Miss,” “My Friends Over You” and “All Downhill from Here.” NFG also recently put on the second edition of its BreakFEST in Tennessee, featuring a mix of musical performances and breakfast foods. “It doesn’t make sense, and I think that’s why it works,” guitarist Chad Gilbert told the Tennessean about the festival. That offbeat approach has kept NFG going for more than two decades.
