The revival of Hello, Dolly! is “a feast for the eyes,” according to actor Lewis J. Stadlen, who portrays Horace Vandergelder in the revered musical.

This production stays true to the original Hello, Dolly! choreography and direction by the late Gower Champion when the play opened at the St. James Theatre in 1964 and starred Carol Channing.

Citing the brilliant dancing, singing, comedy and drama, Stadlen said the show illustrates “the ability to find love and happiness in a 24-hour period.” As Stadlen explains his role, Horace starts out as being “an old fool,” and as he finds love and explores a new and different lifestyle (influenced by Dolly), he gradually becomes younger and happier in spirit and appearance.
